About
The Soybean Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP), established in 2013, is a nationwide third-party sustainability certification program in the United States. The organization responsible for issuing and tracking certifications is the Soy Export Sustainability, LLC. This system ensures that certified sustainable soy maintains mass balance throughout each transfer, with data tracking also applied to the processing stages. In the short term, SSAP helps buyers demonstrate their commitment to purchasing sustainable products. In the long run, it may strengthen consumer preference for sustainable products, ultimately driving greater demand for sustainably produced soy.
